You Dream It. We Build It.

About Aarow Building

Started right here in Columbia Missouri the business has been family owned and run for 32 years. Henry Bruton started Aarow Building after years managing in the lumber business. They put their family name on their work and they want you to know that they will still be around after the job is finished. Now after all these years a second generation of the family is at the helm. Henry’s son Jake has more than 15 years experience working for the family business and is the person you will see for an estimate. They will deliver the highest quality work for a fair price, and the job isn’t finished until the customer is happy.

During the past few years our extensive knowledge base has met and qualified us to be not just a “General Contractor”, but also an “Energy Efficient General Contractor”. A true Energy Efficient General Contractor will be able to have full insight and knowledge into every aspect of Energy Efficient construction. As a general contractor, we will provide the construction work ourselves or provide the sub-contractors for the differentiated processes of desired work. Whether you are looking for new home construction, a home remodel or to expand with a home addition, our years of experience will ensure your desired results of your home construction.

Our Approach

“Inciting evolution through science, service and craft.”

A company of carpenters, we construct buildings that sustain and delight by empowering employees, harnessing 21st century building science, and advancing the tradition of craftsmanship. This effort is built on five pillars: Craft, Building Science, Collaboration, Rigorous Project Management, and Empowered Employees.

Environmental Ethos

Since our founding Aarow Building has been guided by an ethic of quality, durability and beauty embodied in John Ruskin’s words from over a century ago:

“When we build, let us think that we build forever. Let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for.”

We build to last.

Partnering with Architects

At Aarow Building, project development is a collaborative process between architect, general contractor, and client to design and build the best response to the project’s needs. Unlike the single-source “design-build” model that tucks design functions behind builders’ walls, our approach is to partner with independent architects in an open process that provides clients with two advocates rather than one.

This means that the project itself gets three advocates – the architect, the builder, and the client – each independently empowered to champion a unique set of advocacies critical to project success.
